Notre Dame Trip

My son and I have a tradition of making at least one home Notre Dame football game a year. Last weekend, we made  our annual pilgrimage to watch the Irish play Michigan St. Although the campus, the gameday atmosphere, and the game were all very exciting and memorable, there was something else memorable that I thought I’d share. The lady behind the coutner at the rental car place did a terrific job of upselling me. I had booked a cheap, weekend rate car, however the lady persisted that I rent a Chevy Camaro. I told her politely no a couple times, however she persisted and I said ok. The lession I learned, and that everyone can learn from this experience, is that if the original sales pitch doesn’t work, Be Persistent! By being persistent and repitching the upsell in various ways, you very well may get the sale when a mere mortal salesman would’ve given up after the first “no.”
